Allosaurus fragilis (NHMW-Geo 1984/0036/0000)3D Model
3D scan of a cast of a skeleton of Allosaurus fragilis – the most dangerous Jurassic predator. With a body weight of 2–3 tons and a length of 8–12 meters, it was a Jurassic giant. There is fossil evidence that Allosaurus hunted in packs: several fossils of this dinosaur were discovered in a quarry in Utah. The researchers found bones of all sizes and ages, even of very young animals. The original skeleton of this cast was also found in Utah, USA and is dated to 150 million years old.
The skeleton cast of Allosaurus fragilis can be found in Hall 10 of the NHM Vienna.
