Gunung Batur lava flows and craters

This is a model of the southern flank of Gunung Batur, showing generations of lava flows, cinder cones, and craters. Some older lava flows are blanketed by thin ash from eruption of Gunung Agung nearby. Notice the strong alignment of the cinder cones and large craters on the volcano, which indicate the presence of a feeder dyke at depth.
