The Borhidi's Guano Palm [Silvery-grey Palm]

Coccothrinax Borhidiana. This is not the Washington Palm (Washingtonia Robusta)… but it is definitely the Borhidiana Palm. It was named after Attila Borhidi, Hungarian botanist.

I create this rare palm model, because I realy love her.. Her name is the Borhidiana Palm.

I have six pots of this rare palm in my garden. All of them I planted seeds from when I was 6 years old (about 45 years ago). But unfortunately, until now this silvery-grey palm has not reached 15 cm in height.

According to Wikipedia Coccothrinax borhidiana (guano,Borhidi’s guano palm) is a palm which is endemic to Matanzas Province in Cuba. Like other members of the genus, C. borhidiana is a fan palm.

Borhidiana is restricted to an area of less than 10 km2 on raised limestone beaches near the sea and is threatened by development and livestock grazing.
