This virtual reconstruction shows how the tomb of Robert the Bruce may have appeared in the 14th century. The original was lost during the Reformation, a period of religious and political upheaval.

Robert the Bruce was King of Scots from 1306-1329 and was buried in a marble tomb at Dunfermline Abbey. In 1818, fragments of gilded stone were found and given to The Hunterian and National Museums of Scotland.
