An outstanding, local Butchers in the heart of Bakewell, serving some of the best Steak Pies! Along with a great Deli counter, along with a good supply of store cupboard ingredients, & the Butchers counter is excellent! Staff are friendly, produce is seasonal, & farmed locally & mostly seasonal. Please, ensure you visit a proper Butchers, and embrace/support local small, independent businesses.

Myself and my hubby visited Bakewell on Thursday 16 November and just before we left to make the journey back to wales we decided to pop into ginger butchers to see if we could buy some ox cheeks, we were thrilled that we were able to purchase the last pack and whilst there we had a mooch and were delighted that we could also purchase some Derbyshire oatcakes 🤤 my Hubby’s favourite. We were recommended the Bakewell bangers so bought some to bring home and all I can say is wow 😮 these are delicious just had them for our tea tonight and wish we’d purchased more absolutely delicious.

We bought various bits. Including different varieties of sausages. Nice thick bacon. Some marinaded pork and the amazing fresh pork scratchings that are served warm. We have enjoyed everything we bought and definitely be going there again

Oh wow is all I can say. We visited bakewell today and came into your store. We spent a little over £50 on some bits. Lamb cutlets I have never tasted meat so fresh. Lasagna is amazing. Absolutely not disappointed and would highly recommend. You may be a good distance away but will be worth the travel for quality. Staff are very polite and helpful. Shop is immaculate

I feel like this is a hidden gem in Bakewell! We wanted to have a late breakfast but kind of fed up with pub food and pastry at this point. I wanted to check this butcher out for local produce but assumed they only sell food that needs cooking. Then I saw there was a hot cabinet from the outside and the sign said pulled pork with apple sauce in a baguette!! I was like that’s exactly what I wanted. It turned out to be potentially the best sandwich ever. It had lots of tender meat (very generous), stuffings and apple sauce in a big (long) crispy baguette. It was £5.5 or something , which was a great value for what I got. You must come here for the sandwich, you won’t regret it. I’d love to get their chicken sandwich next time.

Amazing hot pork sandwich served by lovely staff. Good portion size 👌 Also picked up a chicken pie as the steak pie was sold out. Highly recommended if visiting Bakewell.

Visited today and decided we might like a lunch outside. Found this place because the meat looked lovely. We ended up with a salad box to take away. My ploughman’s Box contained salad, chutney, two different cheeses, cooked ham, a full pork pie, and pickled onions. It was AMAZING! Hubby had a chicken salad box and it contained heaps of coronation chicken and salad. Recommended 100%

Unreal. Kids wanted a sausage roll and I gave in. Glad I did. Best I have ever tasted and then the pork pie was awesome not to mention the steak pie when we got home. Must visit this place.
