Just come back from an amazing weekend. We went with other families and we all had a great time. The accommodation was clean, not run down and had everything we needed for our stay. The site was also clean and well maintained. As parents it felt safe for children to explore independently. Could not fault the staff who were friendly and went above and beyond to help. I would especially like to thank Martin who helped us retrieve our swimming towels Our children loved the pool and the extra activities offered. In the evening there is entertainment. If like us you wanted to meet up with friends and chat there is also a quieter bar. The location of the site is perfect. Minutes from the beach and a short walk into town. We will definitely be back.

We were greeted into Croyde burrows by David from security , who was friendly, helpful and informative. He showed us our pitch but I’m fussy and like a lovely view. It was no trouble for him to show me the pitches available, taking a tour in his electric buggy. Thank you. |We first visited Ruda in 2003 before it was owned by Parkdean, when we had our pup tent then a bigger tent to accommodate our children. We continued to visit many times when surfing became our hobby and we just loved the site for the views and close proximity to the waves. Part of my family used to stay in Croyde burrows whilst we were over the road and I always felt I had FOMS as tents weren’t allowed there |then. Now we have a tourer caravan we have experienced it and we loved it. Very clean showers and loos, friendly staff, easy walk to the beach and to the village via a footpath from the site. If we were to camp again our favourite pitches by far were at the top of Taw. Last year we retuned there after 11 years and had a great time but sadly the toilet/shower blocks were so run down, it looked liked parkdean hadn’t put any money into them since they took over. On a plus note the staff at John Fowler tell me they are pumping money in to update/improve the site and they seemed to be busy at it whilst we were there last week. It’s what Ruda deserves. We’ll be back!

We had a good holiday here. Caravan was just about basically clean- could have been better but it’s end of season. But we were happy to sleep there and cook. Bed felt very clean and mattress looked like new. ||Better kitchen facilities than another big brand we stayed with in July. ||Caravan was comfortable - needed some maintenance. It’s the one with the ripped floor with a review in August. However this did not bother us. We did see flooring being replaced in other caravans while we were there.||However heating was on a timer and seemed to go on for a couple of hours so the van was cold in the morning. ||We brought our dog, who was made very welcome. There is a huge field up the hill with a kids play area not marked on the map. Croyde beach was a few mins walk. ||Main issue was the communication, we were not made a aware the pool was closed before we got there (It opened on the last day) and since we had our dog so needed to take turns did not want to swim off site at Unison croyde bay. We were not made aware it had re opened on our last day until it was too late to have a swim: Shop closed earlier than on the app which was annoying. ||Show was well stocked - but we collected a sainsbury’s order in the way to Ruda.||Will book again as it was brilliant value for money.

We had a really amazing time. Came for a tots break and so much was included that my son could enjoy. Maddie and Heather you are both complete superstars. Parents joined in with the activities because you made them so much fun. Noah adored you both and hopefully if we come again we will see you both then. UV tshirt making was great and the uv party night so much fun. Everyone joined in. All staff were so friendly and helpful. Lovely clean modern caravan we felt so at home here. Pool closed on site we could book swims on the app so we weren't aware of this before we arrived but a lovely alternative pool not too far away to visit for free was great to visit and it wasn't busy we had a great time thank you.

We have spent many happy family holidays at Ruda and this didn’t disappoint. Only booked a few weeks ago but were given a lovely dog friendly caravan (much better than most pet accommodation we have been given elsewhere). Children loved the updated pool and craft sessions and we all enjoyed the entertainment - the Robbie Williams tribute was a bit hit! Look forward to visiting again soon

Liked: Lovely camp site,we even extended our stay by two nights. All the staff were super friendly. Food on site was great . Toilets and showers very clean...cleaned every day, cleaner took pride in her work, her name was Iris, the lovely ladies on reception gave us her name...will definitely be back. Disliked: Not being able to take the dog on Croyde beach (not allowed on there during peak season) but that was our own fault for not checking before hand.

After 30 years coming here we were told that the take over from John Fowler was the best thing to happen with upgraded lodges which we were put in with new everything etc. we arrived in pouring rain and dark outside to a lodge with mould growing everywhere, so was given a new lodge to then relocate in the rain. Luckily this one was fine and the new born baby could be settled down to sleep. The children were excited to go into the pool and with no information given about times etc we attempted to call reception 15 times and the cascades (swimming pool) 15 times to find out when we could go, unfortunately it seems the staff are allergic to picking up the handset. So far this break has not kept up with the past happy experience we have had with Parkdean , My wife is on the phone to new bookings to see if they could help and have been told “why can’t you walk to the cascades to find times? “ discussing attitude and we will no longer be back .

We have returned to Ruda this year's after staying elsewhere for the last few years. I had received fantastic service online before arriving linked to an enquiry so was disappointed I had to be back in touch when we arrived. Issues with the cleanliness of the caravan was a little disappointing. However we have had a wonderful week! Ryan in the craft club was wonderful with my daughter (almost two) during sand art and it really made out day. Also I have to point out the best part of the week was the Stripes (Heather, Maddie, Jack and Charlie) they were full of energy, enthusiasm and generally friendly. We loved the Foxy club and they engaged so will again with my daughter. She loved the characters and came out of her shell during the week. Although little she was keen to be involved. Even when walking around or in the club they interacted amazingly with us all. A wonderful team which John Fowler need to be proud of!!!!! We can see there are areas to improve during the transition from the previous owners but the Stripes are making sure everyone has a wonderful time!!!!!
