Forest Barn Holidays

We have just returned home from staying in the manor cottage at forest barn holidays for a week. We have had a lovely time. The cottage and the surrounding grounds had everything we needed. My 4 year old loved the under 5s play room and my older kids enjoyed the game barn. The private hot tub was amazing with stunning views. The cottage had everything we needed to cook with and had lots of space to chill out and relax. The bedrooms were comfortable and spacious. Would certainly return in the future.

Stayed in the manor and loved the relaxed nature of this holiday. Next to peaceful woods, hot tub with a great view and the house itself had plenty of character. The kids loved the chickens and the play equipment and the adults appreciated the calm environment. Lynda and her team run a great setup here. Don't expect theme park excitement, do connect with nature during the day and relax in the evenings, do visit here.

My family stayed here for a week and it was absolutely perfect. Quiet, beautiful setting. We had a family reunion in the common room and grounds outside, and it was great. Plenty of room to get together comfortably. Lynda and Geoff are wonderful hosts and helped us with anything we needed. Lynda was a lot of fun to chat with and we shared many laughs. Even Miss Marmalde (the farm cat) was very welcoming and always stopped by to greet us. We will certainly stay here again when we visit family; I highly recommend this property.

Unfortunately I have to give a low score but I feel that this feedback needs to be shared. We arrived at the venue feeling ready for a long awaited break. As we entered, I noted that the floors looked unclean. There were several bits of food residue, balls of fluff and debris over the hall, stairs and landing. Under and around the kitchen table, the floor was also dotted with food residue and had clearly not been vacuumed. The floors felt crunchy under-foot. I highlighted this to Lynda and asked if the cleaners could come back to address this. I was abruptly told " No" and was shown the Dyson and told to use it. I therefore spent the first hour of our holiday vacuuming the floors! This was clearly not what I had hoped for. Clean floors are important at all times but during the Pandemic, this is even more important. The fact the the floors had not been cleaned thoroughly made me concerned about the cleanliness and Covid-security of the rest of the property. I hope that this feedback is acted upon and that future guests can start their holiday in a relaxing manner rather than facing the issues we had.

What a great find!. Booked two cottages for 4 on an exploratory small mountain bike group weekend from a recommendation. Great facilities and a very slick arrival process. Linda pointed us in the right direction for some amazing local biking trails and made us feel very welcome. The Forest of Dean is hugely overlooked as a bike destination. The Hotubs after a day's riding were much needed and a real treat. Definitely coming back and have pre booked already. Thank you again and we will see you soon #menstrollingcycles

Beautiful, peaceful setting. Very spacious and well equipped to make it feel like home. The website accurately depicted the property and the owners were friendly and helpful. We are from the United States and were looking for something in the Forest of Dean. Information on the area and maps were provided to help acquaint us with local activities and businesses. The property maintained an old rustic feel while providing modern conveniences. It is magnificently designed. Our expectations were far exceeded. We will defintiely stay here again.

Our third time as a family spent here. First time in Meadow Byre and the last two years in The Manor. Highly recommend Sutton Baynham. Lynda & Geoff have created a truly idyllic countryside setting of nicely located Barn converted dwellings. Comfortable and tasteful interiors, all essential equipment available. Very peaceful, amazing views and truly relaxing. You soon feel at home when you arrive, you won't want to leave! Whilst there, also highly recommend Mark's Falconry experience - this guy is a professional ornithologist, wonderful birds. Swayze the snowy owl and Hugo the Barn owl are my daughters' favourites. You won't be disappointed if you stay here.

Stayed in Orchard Barn and had a great stay. Linda is very helpful and provided a fabulous welcome pack of local goodies. Quality of the linens and facilities were excellent. Lovely walking straight out of the door and plenty to do in the area.
