I stayed at Whyte Heart Hotel for two nights and got a full taste of the pub, the food, and the rooms.||Here's how it all stacked up.||The Pub and Food||The pub has a great vibe-clean, cozy, and full of character with decor that shows off its history. I've eaten here before, and the food's always been solid.||This time was no different; the menu's got plenty of options, and the beef burger was the star-super juicy with awesome chips. Prices for food are about what you'd expect around here, but the drinks are a bit on the pricey side. I loved that there are different spots to sit: the bar, the dining area, a veranda out front, and a nice garden in the back. It's dog-friendly too, which is a bonus. Most of the staff were really friendly, though one seemed a bit grumpy and could've been more welcoming.||||The Rooms||At £150 a night with breakfast included, the price felt pretty steep for a pub. Our room had a fresh, modern look, which was nice, and came with a kettle, some teabags and milk, a fold-out desk, a smart TV, and basic bathroom stuff like shower gel.||The bed was comfy enough, but the room was a bit cramped. For £300 over two nights, I was annoyed that they didn't restock the tea and milk for the second morning. The bathroom was roomy with a big shower, but it had a weird, stale smell-like old water or something. The worst part, though, was the walls. They were so thin we could hear the neighbours snoring like they were in our room. I get that hotels have some noise, but this was next level and wrecked our sleep both nights, leaving us knackered. Considering it had a refit, more consideration could have been given to this aspect to make it a little more sound proof for guests comfort.||||Breakfast||Breakfast is just for guests staying over, and it was alright. The sausages were great, probably local, and there were lots of choices on the menu. But it wasn't clear if drinks were refillable or not, which was a bit annoying. A little more info on the menu would've helped.||Final Thoughts||||White Hart Godstone is a cracking spot for a meal or a drink, with a warm atmosphere and tasty food.||But the rooms? They are overpriced. The price didn't match the experience, especially with the noisy walls, smelly bathroom, and small things like not topping up the tea. l'd come back for a burger in a heartbeat but might think twice about staying overnight again unless they sort out those issues.

This is the place to go for a comfortable and totally genuine English village pub stay. The rooms haven all been updated and are very comfortable and very clean. The charm is also genuine, and is backed up with impeccable hospitality from Brian and his team of friendly and professional staff. Ditch the fancy hotels and come here to experience a fine tradition of coaching inn hospitality. Food is excellent and the location fabulous.

Staff and pub was outstanding. Did not have food because of pther commitments, but it smelt wonderful. Only downside was the damp patches on walks in food seating area. Would not want to sit in those seats.

Enjoyed a top meal with my partner at the Whyte Hart this weekend. |The steaks were cooked to perfection, portions generous and very reasonably priced. Even though the restaurant was a little quiet the overall ambiance was lovely and the staff really looked after us. Afterwards we went through to the main bar for after dinner drinks. |If eating good food in a relaxed environment sat in beautiful red leather chairs is your thing then this is the place for you.|Highly recommend this pub / restaurant.

So lucky to have this pub in the village! The roast today on Easter Sunday was superb. Great sized portion, such friendly and efficient staff - roast lamb and chicken just like home cooked with all the trimmings, cooked perfectly and plenty of gravy. I’d heard it was now great food and v true- the chef has things down to perfection- couldn’t fault it! No more expensive than usual Sunday Roast prices elsewhere too.

This is a lovely pub/ hotel. The owners and staff are really welcoming. The pub is very old (some parts from 1388) and has the charm to match. That said, it's definitely not dated! Really strong WiFi all over, it's extremely clean and tidy and a good selection of ales/ lagers and spirits. We stayed 2 nights. The room was really clean and comfortable. There's a small carpark (no extra charge) and we never had a problem getting a space. What looks like a newly built outdoor covered area is a great touch. Special mentions go to the wonderful chef Tim who went over and above to make our stay even better. He obviously takes immense pride in his menu with freshly cooked ingredients. The full English breakfast is the best I've ever had as was the steak burger. Thanks Tim, we really appreciated all you did. Sometimes the little things make a massive difference. Highly recommended and I look forward to coming back next time we're in the area.

Really nice pub, nice atmosphere, friendly staff, very pleasant. Haven't tried the food but a good menu and it looks nice. Nice out the back seating area to enjoy the sunshine.

Ignore published menu as does not offer any vegetarian Sunday roasts options as stated on website, nor is chef able to offer any alternatives despite claims on website! Only vegetarian option plant based burger and chips might as well go to McDonald's!
